Networking is important to anybody’s career… but it’s not just enough to meet people. The purpose of networking is to make a broad range of strategic connections with individuals who can help you progress in your career. It’s also vital to develop your leadership skills which can propel you past the places where simply doing a good job can take you.

 

Participation in an Inforum Affinity or Industry specific group is a great way to make the most of your Inforum membership. These groups can help you broaden your strategic connections; build deeper business relationships; learn from women of achievement; share your own strength and achievements; and forge alliances that make things happen. Affinity Groups provide opportunities to help you recharge your batteries by sharing interests and socializing with like-minded women. Members are welcome to attend activities across the state to network with professional women – and men – from a broad cross-section of the business community.

 

Like-minded members volunteer to organize these programs. Some of the groups meet to share interests such as films, books, cooking, arts and culture or their love of horses. Other groups, such as Inforum’s Health Care Next group, share professional interests and similar career goals. Whatever your interest, you are likely to find an Affinity Group or Industry specific group that suits you. And if you can’t find one, you might become inspired to start your own.

 

You are welcome and encouraged to get involved! Inforum Affinity Groups are available to all Inforum members, as a special benefit of membership.

For upcoming Affinity Group and Networking Group events, please log-in with your member password and check the online member Calendar of Events. Be sure to register, if you plan to attend. To join affinity groups, log-in with your member password and go to the networking groups, statewide networking groups on the homepage. You will find a complete list of statewide affinity groups to choose from. When you find the groups that are right for you, click on the group, which will take you to that group’s special homepage. Click “join” in the lower right hand corner, and you will be added to that group. You will then be able to join in conversations with other group members, send e-mails to other group members and receive special e-mails from the group leaders about upcoming events.
